Join artists and arts supporters on February 27, 2010 for the 11th Annual Clay Ball, a spirited and fun-filled evening celebrating the arts.  Proceeds go to support the Salem Art Association and its varied programming, from exhibits at Bush Barn Art Center and Bush House Museum, to in-school art programs that reach more than 11,000 local students annually. Sponsored by Bob and Marypat Hill. The Salem-Keizer Schools Show is SAA’s annual exhibition celebrating the creativity of local youth.  Exhibit features a delightful selection of artwork created by kindergarten through twelfth grade students attending Salem-Keizer schools.

Something Special: Vintage Embellishments and Accessories
Bush House Museum, March 2-May 9, 2010. This exhibit features the special somethings used to add panache to the well-dressed woman’s wardrobe of one hundred years ago. View our collection of amazing hats, embellished shoes, embroidered silk scarves, elaborate parasols, luxurious capes, and fancy gloves that decorated Salem’s leading ladies in a bygone era.

3/31-4/11: Salem
MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility Show
Camas Gallery. Opening Reception: March 31, 4:30 to 5:30 pm. In the Camas Gallery, SAA will feature urban art created by Braulio Lucas, a youth incarcerated at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. Lucas’s artwork explores dark subject matter in bold color schemes.

Middle School Art & Poetry Show
A.N. Bush and Camas Galleries. Opening Receptions: Adam Stephens Middle School, April 16, 5:30 to 7 pm. Waldo Middle School, April 20, 5:30 to 7 pm. Parrish Middle School, April 22, 5:30 to 7 pm. Adam Stephens, Parrish and Waldo middle school students exhibit the shadow boxes, mixed-media collages, printmaking, artists’ books and poetry they have created while working with SAA teaching artists and poets in their schools. The exhibit is on view in the A.N. Bush and Galleries through May 2.

Friends of Bush Gardens 27th Annual Benefit Plant Sale
Friday, 10 am to 7 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday, 10 am to 3 pm
The Friends of Bush Gardens (FOBG) will hold their 27th Annual Benefit Plant Sale April 23, 24 and 25 in the parking lot of Salem Art Association in Bush’s Pasture Park. The plant sale will include a wide selection of perennials, herbs, shrubs and trees, native plants, organic vegetables, annuals, and flower baskets. Proceeds from the plant sale benefit the gardens and historic greenhouse in Bush's Pasture Park
