Welcome to the Summer 2016 Edition of Willamette Valley Life!
I grew up in central Texas. The summertime was brutally hot and the local swimming hole was one of the few respites from the heat. Needless to say, swimming holes were holy places.
This issue is devoted to summertime in the Valley. The Willamette Valley has its own special places where you can dive off of a cliff, swim in turquoise waters, have a picnic, camp and make memories. Writer Tami Richards has picked out great camping spots where you can set up a tent for a weekend of adventure and campfire s’mores while writer Sarah Horner found some phone apps that will help you get away for summer fun with the punch of a button! Finally, food editor Kim Puffpaff shares a recipe for the perfect summer dessert.
From our family to yours, have a safe and fantastically enjoyable summer. Take the time out of your busy schedule to enjoy the warm weather and beautiful places in the Willamette Valley that come alive this time of year.
